Let Me Explain

If you are a new reader, welcome to I Will Run For Chocolate! If you are a returning reader, welcome to I Will Run For Chocolate, formerly Embrace Your Skin!

I know you’re first thought is, “Why does this girl keep changing her website!?” Well, let me give you a quick rundown on the reasons for the newest new site.

I recently switched from my old WordPress site to a newer one, hosted through iWeb’s Mobile Me. The site was gorgeous, and looked very clean and put together. However, the functionality of the site was horrible. The comments feature was incredibly temperamental and I had many readers tell me that they weren’t able to leave comments. This wasn’t going to suffice, after all, comments are one of the greatest parts of blogs! In addition, my readership was cut to about 1/3 of what it had been at my old WordPress site. Now, the numbers aren’t important to me, but I was really upset that I had lost so many readers because they didn’t care for the way the new site was running. With these things in mind, I decided to go back to WordPress, which always works well and never gives me trouble.

The new site name took a bit more consideration. I began Embrace Your Skin right in the aftermath of my eating disorder as I was working toward recovery. It perfectly captured my attitude toward heath and fitness at the time and I don’t think I could have chosen a more perfect name. However, now that I consider myself completely recovered, the name still fit, but didn’t have real meaning to me anymore. I decided that I Will Run For Chocolate is more reflective of my current approach to food and exercise. I love chocolate and you can bet that I will eat it now! I am also a runner, having completed 2 marathons and countless other races. Running is one of my great loves and I consider it an essential part of my life!

With all that being said, welcome to the new site. Please let me know how it is working for you and what sort of changes I can make! Please check out my About Me page and keep an eye out for a new and improved page on my races!
Perhaps most importantly, let me leave you with a delicious and easy recipe!

Cranberry Sauce

  • 4 cups cranberries
  • 2 Cups Water
  • Β½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • ΒΌΒ  Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tbs Pumpkin Puree
  • 1 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 Tbs Honey

It’s almost too easy

Combine all ingredients in a large pot over medium to high heat and cook until cranberries have “popped”, about 15 minutes.

Try not to worry if your stove looks like the site of a murder, it’s normal!

  1. yay for switching! i love the new blog name – it makes me crave chocolate πŸ˜›

And that cranberry sauce looks AWESOME. i’m making some for thanksgiving, actually. I decided that it was high time my family learned to eat REAL cranberry sauce as opposed to that weird stuff in a can.

    • Thanks Sara!
My family has always made the real stuff, in fact, I think I have only had canned cranberries once or twice. When I was making cranberries one day a while back, my boyfriend asked, “How do you make cranberries? They came in a can.”
It was a sad and enlightening day for me! πŸ™‚
The real stuff beats the canned by a mile, and it’s really easy to make!
